First "Long" Run

So yesterday was my first long run, 5 miles. It definitely was long, since the most I'd done has been 3mi so far. I was dead tired at the end of it, but honestly I felt great once I had finished. I did it in a fairly decent time for me as well, which was nice to know. Then headed home to catch the Pats/Colts game. Too bad the rest of my marathon trainning won't end in football games...

A new Year, a new Goal

To everyone(anyone) who reads,
This blog is mostly for me. It's a way for me to keep track of my progress, and make it accessible to those who would look at it. I could care less if anyone actually reads this, but I want to make sure I'm accountable to someone.
I started this year with one goal, to finish a marathon. I'm thinking about running a marathon in October, which gives me plenty of time to prepare for it. Right now, I'm weighing in at about 205 pounds, which on my 6'1 frame isn't that bad. I'm heading to the doctor's in a few weeks for a physical, so I'll know all my information then. I'm in fairly good health, but could be better.
I hate the gym. I sweat a lot, which is tough for me in that I never seem to wash it all off, and my work load is a bit tough to spend a lot of time in the gym. Even the 30 minute routines require me to warm up, stretch, and change. I'm thinking to use body weight exercises, including my capoeira classes, to get myself fit.
I'm running, obviously. This is a tough thing for me, as I wouldn't say I have a runner's body. But I'm going to get myself into shape, make no mistake.

Stay tuned for more!
